Inside information: VR-Group’s Contract Award Decision concerning Electric Multiple Unit Trains
VR-Group Plc (“VR Group”) has today 24 October 2022 made its procurement decision in its public procurement regarding electric multiple unit trains (later “EMUs”). According to the procurement decision the contract is awarded to Stadler Bussnang AG.
The object of the procurement is 20 EMUs, spare parts, special tools, training and documentation related to EMUs as described in detail in the procurement’s final invitation to tender. In addition, the procurement includes options to purchase additional 50 EMUs and maintenance services for EMUs as described in detail in the final invitation to tender.
The procurement decision may be appealed within an appeal period of fourteen (14) days. The contract may be concluded at the earliest after the end of the appeal period.
The procurement is a public procurement that exceeds the EU threshold. VR Group estimates that the value of the procurement without options is approximately 250 million euros.

Sisäpiiritieto: VR-Yhtymä Oyj:n hankintapäätös koskien sähkömoottorijunien hankintaa
VR-Yhtymä Oyj (”VR”) on tänään 24. lokakuuta 2022 tehnyt hankintapäätöksen julkisessa hankinnassaan koskien sähkömoottorijunien hankintaa. Hankintapäätöksen mukaan tarjouskilpailun voittajaksi valitaan Stadler Bussnang AG.
Hankinnan kohteena on 20 sähkömoottorijunaa sekä sähkömoottorijuniin liittyvät varaosat, erikoistyökalut, koulutus ja dokumentaatio hankinnan lopullisessa tarjouspyynnössä kuvatun mukaisesti. Lisäksi hankinta sisältää optiot, jonka mukaisesti VR:llä on mahdollisuus ostaa 50 sähkömoottorijunaa lisää sekä junien kunnossapito.
Hankintapäätöksestä voidaan valittaa 14 päivän valitusajan kuluessa. Sopimus hankinnasta voidaan tehdä aikaisintaan valitusajan päätyttyä.
Kyseessä on EU-kynnysarvon ylittävä julkinen hankinta, jonka arvoksi ilman optioita VR arvioi noin 250 miljoonaa euroa.
