The Norwegian governments proposal to introduce a resource tax on production of salmon in Norway of 40% is a special tax on aquaculture companies that today create value and employment in many small coastal societies in Norway.
In the light of this, Måsøval has decided to cancel its acquisition of 116 tonnes MAB in production area 6.
The company will untill further notice postpone planned investments in excess of MNOK 1,000.
This will have significant negative repercussions for our suppliers and the coastal societies where we operate our business.

Den norske regjeringens forslag om å innføre en grunnrenteskatt på produksjon av laks i Norge på 40%, er en særskatt på havbruksselskap som i dag skaper verdier og arbeidsplasser i mange små kystsamfunn i Norge.
Måsøval AS benytter med dette som bakgrunn retten til å heve sitt kjøp på 116 tonn MTB til fastpris i produksjonsområde 6.
Selskapet vil inntil videre utsette planlagte investeringer for mer enn MNOK 1000.
Dette vil ha betydelige negative ringvirkninger for våre leverandører og de kystsamfunn vi driver vår virksomhet i.
