Washington State’s Clean Energy Fund (WS CEF) har tildelt et konsortium bestående af University of Washington (UoW), Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) samt FOM Technologies midler til udvikling af kunstig intelligens og maskin læring (AI/ML).
Det tekniske program samler FOM Technologies Inc.s produktionsværktøjsdesign og kommercialiseringserfaring med de to partneres indsigt i forskning af kunstig intelligens og maskinlæring (AI/ML) til fremstillingsudstyr.
Kernen i FOM’s forretning er kommercialiseringen af avancerede maskine og udstyr til fremstilling af bl.a. energienheder. Dette projekt som WS CEF har tildelt et grant til, har til formål at udvikle nye muligheder til FOM’s produktudbud og gøre det muligt for FOM hurtigt at kunne tilpasse fremstillingsapplikationer inden for batterier, brændelsceller og sol applikationener via AI og ML.
Ansvarlig for FOM Technologies Inc. Martin Kiener udtaler: “Vi er meget stolte over at blive udvalgt til at opnå finansiering til AI- og ML-udvikling i samarbejde med to meget prestigefyldte partner. FOM har allerede en historie for samarbejde med Argonne National Laboratory og i særdeleshed University of Washington om coating i anvendelse af batteri udvikling. Sammen håber vi at kunne bruge disse forskningsmidler udvikling af AI baseret software til at understøtte den voksende batteri- og energienhedsproduktionssektor i Washington State og dermed understøtte væksten af FOM Technologies’ forretning i USA.”R/D-projektet forventes at opstarte i 4. kvartal af 2024.

Washington State’s Clean Energy Fund (WS CEF) have awarded a consortium consisting of University of Washington (UoW), Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) and FOM Technologies funding for development of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).
The technical program brings together the manufacturing tool design and commercialization experience of FOM Technologies Inc. with the two national research institutions’ insight to device research, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) for manufacturing capabilities.
The core of FOM’s business is the commercialization of advanced energy device manufacturing tools and this project will bring new capabilities to FOM’s product offerings and allow FOM to rapidly be adapted to manufacturing applications in batteries, fuel cells and thin film solar.
President of FOM Technologies Inc. Martin Kiener states: “We are very proud to be selected to obtain funding for AI and ML development in collaboration with two very prestigious partners. FOM already has a history of collaboration with ANL and in particular the University of Washington on coating in application of battery development. Together, we hope to use these research funds to develop AI based software to support the growing battery and energy device manufacturing sector in Washington State and thus support the growth of FOM Technologies’ business in the US.”
The R/D project is expected to start in Q4 2024.
