Scanfil to invest in factory expansion of 14,000 m² in Sieradz
Scanfil decided to invest in a new factory building of 14,000 m² in Sieradz, Poland. The new building will increase the factory floor area by over 70%. The project will start in August 2023, and the new building is estimated to be ready for production in the second quarter of 2025.
The investment of EUR 20 million includes a new building with the building technology. The expansion will require additional investments in production and warehouse technology. Additional investments will be done gradually in line with production volume growth.
The new factory building will be powered by solar panels and the indoor climate will be heated and cooled by geothermal energy. The chosen solutions reduce CO2 emissions significantly compared to traditional alternatives.
“This investment will ensure our capacity to serve the growing manufacturing needs and volumes of our existing and new electronics customers in Europe. This is the second large investment in less than a year in Sieradz. In January, we decided to invest EUR 6 million in the electronics manufacturing capacity that is now in use in August”, says Petteri Jokitalo, the CEO of Scanfil.

The 14,000 m² investment will make Sieradz Scanfil’s the largest factory measured in space and create a good ground for further production expansion.

Scanfil investoi 14 000 m² tehtaan laajennukseen Sieradzissa
Scanfil päätti investoida uuteen noin 14 000 m² tehdasrakennukseen Sieradzissa, Puolassa. Uusi rakennus tulee kasvattamaan tehtaan lattiapinta-alaa yli 70 prosenttia. Projekti alkaa elokuussa 2023 ja uuden rakennuksen on arvioitu olevan valmis tuotantoa varten vuoden 2025 toisella vuosineljänneksellä.
20 miljoonan euron investointi sisältää uuden rakennuksen rakennustekniikan kanssa. Laajennus tulee vaatimaan lisäinvestointeja tuotanto- ja varastoteknologiaan. Lisäinvestointeja tehdään asteittain tuotantovolyymin kasvun mukaisesti.
Uuden tehdasrakennuksen energia tuotetaan aurinkopaneeleilla ja sisäilmaa lämmitetään ja viilennetään maalämmön avulla. Valitut ratkaisut vähentävät CO2-päästöjä merkittävästi verrattuna perinteisiin vaihtoehtoihin.
“Investointi tulee varmistamaan kapasiteetin palvella nykyisten ja uusien elektroniikka-asiakkaidemme kasvavia tuotantotarpeita ja -volyymeja Euroopassa. Tämä on toinen suuri investointi alle vuoden aikana Sieradziin. Tammikuussa päätimme investoida 6 miljoonaa euroa elektroniikan tuotantokapasiteettiin, joka tuli nyt elokuussa käyttöön”, sanoo Petteri Jokitalo, Scanfilin toimitusjohtaja.
“Tämä on meille kunnia. Tiimimme on tehnyt kovasti töitä viimeisten vuosien aikana ja todistanut olevansa luotettava kumppani hyvällä kasvukyvyllä. Nyt, kaikki kova työ on palkittu lisäinvestoinneilla Sieradziin”, tarkentaa Scanfil Sieradzin tehtaanjohtaja Pawel Kurowski.
14 000 m² investointi tulee tekemään Sieradzista Scanfilin suurimman tehtaan pinta-alalla mitattuna ja luomaan hyvän pohjan tuleville tuotannon laajennuksille.
