In 2019 Måsøval received 4 development licenses to develop the concept Aqua Semi. Aqua Semi is designed to open up new areas for salmon farming, reduce lice and disease contagion and improve fish health..
The pre-project is now finalised and the unit is ready to be built.
The governments proposed resource tax on aquaculture represent an unacceptable risk for the project. Måsøval AS has therefore decided to postpone a decision to start the project,
The company regrets the consequences this will have for the projects suppliers.

I 2019 mottok Måsøval 4 utviklingskonsesjoner til konseptet Aqua Semi. Aqua Semi er designet for å åpne opp nye områder for lakseoppdrett, redusere risiko for lakselus, forbedre fiskehelse og forhindre rømming.
Forprosjektet er nå ferdig, og produksjonsenheten er klar til bygging.
Regjeringens forslag om grunnrenteskatt i havbruk representerer en uakseptabel risiko for prosjektet.
Måsøval AS vil derfor utsette beslutning om gjennomføring.
Selskapet beklager konsekvenser dette får for leverandører til prosjektet.
