President for Oticon Medical Jes Olsen går på pension
Demant offentliggør hermed en ændring i forretningsområdet Hearing Implants, der opererer under Oticon Medical-brandet. Jes Olsen, President for Oticon Medical, har besluttet at gå på pension i begyndelsen af marts 2022, og Søren Nielsen, koncernchef og administrerende direktør for Demant, vil påtage sig rollen som President for Oticon Medical, indtil der er fundet en erstatning for Jes Olsen. Jes Olsen, som har været ansat i Demant-koncernen siden 1985 og har været Oticon Medicals spydspids, siden firmaet blev etableret, vil fortsætte i en rådgivende rolle i Oticon Medical for at sikre en gnidningsfri overgangsperiode.
“På vegne af Demant-koncernen vil jeg gerne takke Jes Olsen for hans altid passionerede og dedikerede indsats for Demant og Oticon Medical i de seneste 36 år. Jeg er meget glad for, at Jes vil fortsætte med at bakke op om Demant-koncernen i rollen som betroet rådgiver og dermed fortsat bidrage med sin tid, erfaring og netværk. Med sin enorme viden om og erfaring fra høresundhedsindustrien har Jes bidraget til mange succeser i Demant-koncernen helt fra begyndelsen, dengang Oticon blev et ægte globalt selskab, til koncernen tog det vigtige skridt ind på høreimplantatområdet i begyndelsen af dette årtusinde,” siger Søren Nielsen, koncernchef og administrerende direktør for Demant.
“Jeg er utroligt stolt over at have bidraget til at opbygge det Demant, vi ser i dag, og jeg føler mig privilegeret over at have fået lov til at skabe innovation og at arbejde med nogle af de klogeste mennesker, jeg kender. At arbejde internationalt i forskellige kulturer og at se mennesker vokse og stærke teams og resultater udvikle sig har været en fantastisk oplevelse for mig, og jeg håber, at jeg har gjort en forskel for koncernen. Jeg vil gerne takke alle, jeg har samarbejdet med i mine mange år i koncernen – og især de mange gode kolleger i Oticon Medical i de sidste 15 år,” siger Jes Olsen, President for Oticon Medical.
Da udviklingen af forretningen og de ambitiøse produktplaner for Oticon Medical er af stor vigtighed i 2022 og fremadrettet, vil Søren Nielsen indtil videre påtage sig lederskabet af Oticon Medical ud over sine nuværende forpligtelser som koncernchef for Demant. For at kunne fokusere på at implementere og verificere løsningen på det problem, der for nyligt resulterede i en frivillig markedskorrigerende handling, har Demant derfor valgt at udskyde udnævnelsen af en ny President for Oticon Medical, men vil starte søgningen, når tiden er inde.
“Demant er fuldt engageret i Hearing Implants-forretningen og i at udvikle og lede Oticon Medical hen imod nye succeser. Det er en del af vores løfte til brugerne og kunderne fortsat at udvikle og producere høreimplantater af høj kvalitet, og jeg ser frem til at komme endnu tættere på den daglige drift af dette forretningsområde,” siger Søren Nielsen, koncernchef og administrerende direktør for Demant.

President of Oticon Medical Jes Olsen retires
Demant announces a change of leadership in its Hearing Implants business area, operating under the Oticon Medical brand. Jes Olsen, President of Oticon Medical, has decided to retire from the company at the beginning of March 2022, and Søren Nielsen, President & CEO of Demant, will take on the role as President of Oticon Medical until a replacement for Jes Olsen has been found. Jes Olsen, who has been with the Demant Group since 1985 and has spearheaded Oticon Medical since the establishment of the company in 2008, will continue in an advisory role for Oticon Medical to ensure a smooth transition.
“On behalf of the Demant Group, I would like to thank Jes Olsen for his great passion and his dedication to Demant and Oticon Medical for the past 36 years. I am very pleased that he will continue to support the Demant Group with his time, experience and network as a trusted advisor. With his immense knowledge of and experience from the hearing healthcare industry, Jes has supported many successful activities in the Demant Group from the early days when Oticon became a truly global company to our important step into hearing implants at the beginning of this millennium,” says Søren Nielsen, President & CEO of Demant.

Considering the important business development efforts and ambitious roadmap for Oticon Medical in 2022 and onwards, Søren Nielsen will take on the leadership of Oticon Medical for the time being in addition to his current responsibilities as CEO of Demant. In order to stay fully focused on implementing and verifying the solution to the issue relating to the recently announced voluntary field corrective action, Demant has chosen to postpone the appointment of a new President of Oticon Medical but will start the search in due course.
