First Deputy Governor Anna Breman has informed the General Council that she has been appointed as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Ms Breman will thus leave her position at the Riksbank on 10 October. The General Council of the Riksbank will begin a recruitment process for a new member of the Executive Board of the Riksbank shortly.
“We congratulate Anna Breman on her appointment as Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. This is a testament to Anna Breman’s reputation as an internationally recognised economist. The appointment also testifies to the fact that the members of the Riksbank’s Executive Board are of a high international calibre. On behalf of the General Council, we would like to thank Anna Breman for her excellent work during her time at the Riksbank and to wish her the best of luck in her new position,” said Bo Broman, Chair of the General Council, and Tomas Eneroth, Vice Chair, in a joint statement.
“I am delighted and honoured to have been entrusted with the appointment as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. My time at Sveriges Riksbank has been very rewarding. I have had the privilege of working together with the Riksbank’s fantastic employees. I am very proud to have been part of the wonderful culture at the Riksbank,” says Anna Breman.
The General Council of the Riksbank will begin a recruitment process for a new member of the Executive Board of the Riksbank shortly. The Executive Board will consist of four members until a new member takes office. In the event of a vote when taking a decision, the proposal receiving a majority of the votes will win. The Chairman of the Executive Board, the Governor, has a casting vote in the event of a tie.

Förste vice riksbankschef Anna Breman har meddelat riksbanksfullmäktige att hon har utnämnts till ny centralbankschef för Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Breman avslutar därmed sin tjänst på Riksbanken den 10 oktober. Riksbanksfullmäktige kommer att inleda en rekryteringsprocess av en ny ledamot till Riksbankens direktion inom kort.
”Vi gratulerar Anna Breman till utnämningen till centralbankschef på Nya Zeeland. Det vittnar om Anna Bremans goda renommé som internationellt uppskattad ekonom. Utnämningen vittnar också om att ledamöterna i Riksbankens direktion håller hög internationell nivå. Vi vill på riksbanksfullmäktiges vägnar tacka Anna Breman för hennes goda insatser under tiden på Riksbanken och önskar henne lycka till på sin nya position”, säger riksbanksfullmäktiges ordförande Bo Broman och vice ordförande Tomas Eneroth i en gemensam kommentar.
”Jag är mycket glad och hedrad över att ha fått förtroendet att bli utnämnd till ny centralbankschef för Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Min tid vid Sveriges riksbank har varit mycket givande. Jag har haft förmånen att jobba tillsammans med Riksbankens fantastiska medarbetare. Jag är väldigt stolt över att ha fått vara en del av den fina kulturen vid Riksbanken”, säger Anna Breman.
Riksbanksfullmäktige kommer att inleda en rekryteringsprocess av en ny ledamot till Riksbankens direktion inom kort. Direktionen kommer att bestå av fyra ledamöter fram tills att en ny ledamot tillträder. Vid omröstning i beslut vinner det förslag som samlat en majoritet av rösterna. Ordförande i direktionen, riksbankschefen, har utslagsröst vid lika röstetal.
