Puuilo expands its store network in Southwest Finland and the Pirkanmaa region by opening new stores in Sastamala and Lieto. The stores are expected to open by the end of 2022 and will provide employment for more than 30 people.
In Southwest Finland, Puuilo currently has stores in Raisio, Kaarina and Salo. Puuilo’s CEO Juha Saarela sees additional opportunities for growth in the region around the city of Turku in Southwest Finland. Due to its location, Saarela considers Sastamala to be a good addition to Puuilo’s store network.
“There is a strong demand for a player like Puuilo in Turku and its surrounding municipalities. The Lieto store will be our third store in the area. Sastamala is a perfect fit for our expansion program and our product offering is very well in line with the demand in the region. Sastamala is a strong centre and there is a relatively large distance from it to the nearest Puuilo stores.”
Puuilo currently has 33 stores across Finland. The current store network is young, and more than half of the stores have been opened during 2016-2021. The new store projects are in line with the company’s strategic goals, and Puuilo’s efficient and standardized store opening process enables the opening of several stores every year. In recent years, Puuilo has opened an average of 3-4 new stores each year, which is also the goal for the coming years.

Puuilo laajentaa myymäläverkostoaan Varsinais-Suomessa ja Pirkanmaalla avaamalla myymälät Sastamalaan ja Lietoon. Myymälät arvioidaan avattavan vuoden 2022 loppuun mennessä ja ne tulevat tarjoamaan työpaikan yhteensä yli 30 hengelle.
Varsinais-Suomessa Puuilolla on tällä hetkellä myymälät Raisiossa, Kaarinassa ja Salossa. Puuilon toimitusjohtaja Juha Saarela näkee Turun markkina-alueella edelleen tilaa kasvulle. Sastamalaa Saarela pitää sijaintinsa puolesta hyvänä lisänä Puuilon myymäläverkostoon.
“Turussa ja sen ympäryskunnissa on Puuilon kaltaiselle toimijalle vahvaa kysyntää. Liedon myymälä tulee olemaan kolmas myymälämme alueella. Sastamala sopii erinomaisesti laajentumisohjelmaamme ja valikoimamme vastaa erittäin hyvin alueen kysyntään. Sastamala on vahva keskuspaikkakunta ja sieltä on suhteellisen paljon matkaa lähimpiin Puuilon myymälöihin.”
Puuilolla on tällä hetkellä yhteensä 33 myymälää eri puolilla Suomea. Nykyinen myymäläverkosto on nuori, ja yli puolet myymälöistä on avattu vuosien 2016–2021 aikana. Saarelan mukaan uudet myymäläprojektit kulkevat linjassa yhtiön strategisten tavoitteiden kanssa, ja Puuilon tehokas ja standardoitu myymälänavaamisprosessi mahdollistaa usean myymälän avaamisen vuosittain. Viime vuosina Puuilo on avannut vuosittain keskimäärin 3–4 uutta myymälää, mikä on tavoitteena myös tulevina vuosina.
