Insider information, negative profit warning: S-Bank lowers its profit guidance for 2025
S-Bank Plc is lowering its profit guidance for 2025. The company estimates that operating profit for the whole year will decline to under EUR 100 million. Previously, the company expected the operating profit for the whole year to decline to approximately EUR 100 million (EUR 165.2).
The reason for the lowering of the profit guidance is the combined penalty payment of EUR 7 670 000 imposed on S-Bank by the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA). The penalty concerns an exceptional and very difficult-to-detect malfunction that occurred in a software update by S-Bank’s system provider in summer 2022. Suspected criminals exploited the system malfunction, which resulted in financial losses to a small number of S-Bank’s customers. The system malfunction was corrected as soon as it was detected. S-Bank has compensated all direct damage caused to customers.

Sisäpiiritieto, negatiivinen tulosvaroitus: S-Pankki laskee tulosohjeistustaan vuodelle 2025
S-Pankki Oyj laskee tulosohjeistustaan vuodelle 2025. Yhtiö arvioi koko vuoden liikevoiton laskevan alle 100 miljoonan euron tasolle. Aiemmin yhtiö odotti koko vuoden liikevoiton laskevan noin 100 miljoonan euron (165,2) tasolle.
Tulosohjeistuksen laskun syynä on Finanssivalvonnan S-Pankille määräämä 7 670 000 euron yhteinen seuraamusmaksu. Seuraamus liittyy vuonna 2022 S-Pankin järjestelmätoimittajan ohjelmistopäivityksen yhteydessä syntyneeseen poikkeukselliseen ja erittäin vaikeasti havaittavaan virheeseen. Epäillyt rikolliset hyödynsivät ohjelmistovirhettä, mistä aiheutui vahinkoa pienelle joukolle S-Pankin asiakkaita. Ohjelmistovirhe korjattiin heti, kun se havaittiin. S-Pankki on korvannut kaikki asiakkaille aiheutuneet välittömät vahingot.
