Kempower recognized with excellent performance in ISO certifications for quality, environmental impact, safety of operations and information security
Kempower, a leading provider of EV fast charging solutions, has achieved four prestigious ISO certifications, showcasing its commitment to quality, environmental sustainability, safety, and information security. Among these, Kempower has proudly earned the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for the first time, demonstrating its dedication to IT security, cybersecurity, and privacy protection. This milestone applies to Kempower’s operations in Durham, USA, and Lahti, Finland, reinforcing its pursuit of excellence on a global scale.
Kempower has been awarded ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), 14001 (Environmental Management), 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) certifications for its two newest charging production facilities, located in Lahti, Finland and Durham, USA.
Kempower has also been awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection, which applies to the cloud-based charging management software Kempower ChargEye and charging hardware in Kempower’s R&D and Operations organizations in Finland and the USA.
ISO certifications are provided to companies that meet internationally recognized standards as set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO/IEC title refers to ISO’s collaboration with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which develops standards relating to information technology.
Kempower’s ISO certifications corroborate the company’s commitment to providing products and services that meet both customer and regulatory requirements. They also certify Kempower’s dedication to sustainable development and high standards of health and safety. The ISO/IEC certification verifies that Kempower has put in place a system to manage risks related to the security of data owned or handled by the company, and that this system respects all the best practices and principles enshrined in the international standard.
Focused Efforts in Cybersecurity and Compliance
Cybersecurity, an ever-relevant and critical issue, holds a central role at Kempower. The company invests heavily in enhancing the cybersecurity of its products, processes, and internal operations to ensure seamless functionality and robust business continuity. This commitment is guided by its Information Security Management System (ISMS), which was recently certified under the latest ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard.
This certification also supports compliance with the European NIS2 directive, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity across sectors. By adopting a systematic approach and continuously improving its practices, Kempower ensures it meets the stringent cybersecurity expectations of its industry. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification covers Kempower’s ISMS, production processes, physical charging devices, and in-house software applications, further bolstering its commitment to high standards in all aspects of its operations.

Kempower has already been awarded ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) in 2020 and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) in 2022 for its first Lahti facility. Kempower’s chosen certification body for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is risk management company DNV. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification comes from global professional service provider KPMG.

Kempowerille myönnettiin ISO-sertifioinnit laadun, ympäristövaikutusten, turvallisuuden ja tietoturvan osalta
Johtava sähköajoneuvojen pikalatausratkaisujen tarjoaja Kempower on saavuttanut neljä arvostettua ISO-sertifiointia. Sertifikaatit vahvistavat yhtiön sitoutumista laatuun, vastuullisuuteen, turvallisuuteen ja tietoturvaan. Kempower sai nyt ensimmäistä kertaa ISO/IEC 27001:2022 -sertifikaatin, joka todentaa yhtiön sitoutumista IT-turvallisuuteen, kyberturvallisuuteen ja tietosuojan varmistamiseen.
Sertifikaatit kattavat Kempowerin toiminnot Durhamissa, Yhdysvalloissa, sekä Lahdessa, ja vahvistavat yrityksen positiota yhtenä globaalin DC-latausmarkkinan johtavista yrityksistä.
Kempowerille on myönnetty ISO 9001 (laadunhallintajärjestelmä), 14001 (ympäristönhallinta) ja ISO 45001 (työterveys ja -turvallisuus) -sertifikaatit sen kahdelle uudelle tuotantolaitokselle Lahdessa, sekä yhtiön tuotantolaitokselle Durhamissa, Yhdysvalloissa.

ISO-sertifikaatit myönnetään yrityksille, jotka täyttävät kansainvälisesti tunnustetut standardit, jotka Kansainvälinen standardisoimisjärjestö (ISO) on määritellyt. ISO/IEC-tunnus viittaa ISO:n yhteistyöhön Kansainvälisen sähköteknisen komission (IEC) kanssa, joka kehittää tietotekniikkaan liittyviä standardeja.
Kempowerin ISO-sertifikaatit vahvistavat yrityksen sitoutumisen tuotteisiin ja palveluihin, jotka täyttävät sekä asiakkaiden että asetusten vaatimukset. Ne myös todistavat Kempowerin omistautumisen kestävään kehitykseen, sekä korkeisiin terveys- ja turvallisuusstandardeihin. ISO/IEC-sertifikaatti osoittaa, että Kempowerilla on käytössä järjestelmä, jonka avulla hallitaan yrityksen omistamiin tai yrityksen käsittelemiin tietoihin liittyviä riskejä ja että tämä järjestelmä noudattaa kansainvälisen standardin parhaita käytäntöjä ja periaatteita.
Kyberturvallisuus keskiössä
Kyberturvallisuus on keskeisessä roolissa Kempowerilla. Yhtiö panostaa merkittävästi tuotteidensa, prosessiensa ja sisäisten toimintojensa kyberturvallisuuteen varmistaakseen häiriöttömän toiminnan ja liiketoiminnan jatkuvuuden. Tätä sitoutumista ohjaa tietoturvan hallintajärjestelmä (ISMS), joka sai äskettäin ISO/IEC 27001:2022 -sertifikaatin mukaisen hyväksynnän.
Tämä sertifiointi tukee myös Euroopan NIS2-direktiivin noudattamista, joka pyrkii vahvistamaan kyberturvallisuutta eri sektoreilla. Järjestelmällinen lähestymistapa ja jatkuva kehitystyö mahdollistavat sen, että Kempower täyttää toimialansa tiukat kyberturvallisuusvaatimukset. Monet Kempowerin asiakkaat ja kumppanit odottavat kansainvälisesti tunnustettua tietoturva- ja kyberturvaosaamista, ja Kempowerin saavutukset tällä alueella osoittavat yhtiön kyvyn vastata näihin vaatimuksiin.
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 -sertifikaatti kattaa Kempowerin ISMS-järjestelmän, tuotantoprosessit, fyysiset latauslaitteet ja yrityksen tuottamat ohjelmistosovellukset, vahvistaen entisestään Kempowerin sitoutumista korkeisiin standardeihin kaikilla toiminnan osa-alueilla.

Kempowerin kyberturvallisuudesta vastaava johtaja Tero Vuori lisää: “ISO/IEC 27001:2022 -standardin tavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi tehty kehitystyö on auttanut meitä rakentamaan Kempowerille vankan tietoturvan hallintajärjestelmän, joka varmistaa tietoturvan jatkuvan parantamisen ja nopeamman reagoinnin erilaisiin turvallisuusuhkiin. Tämä on myös valmistanut meitä täyteen NIS2-yhdenmukaisuuteen, joka on EU:n direktiivi korkean yhteisen kyberturvallisuustason toimenpiteistä. Tämä sertifiointi on vasta alkua, sillä standardi perustuu jatkuvaan kehitykseen.”
Kempowerille myönnettiin ISO 9001 (laadunhallintajärjestelmä) jo vuonna 2020 sekä ISO 14001 (ympäristönhallinta) ja ISO 45001 (työterveys ja -turvallisuus) vuonna 2022 ensimmäiselle Lahden tehtaalle. Kempowerin valitsema sertifiointielin ISO 9001-, ISO 14001- ja ISO 45001 -standardeille on riskienhallintayritys DNV. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 -sertifiointi tulee globaalilta asiantuntijapalveluiden tarjoajalta KPMG:ltä.
